About this conference
This conference series commenced in 1989 to provide an international forum for the presentation and discussion of state-of-the-art and cutting-edge research on computational and cognitive models of design creativity and became known as the "Heron island" conferences.
This conference, the Thirtieth Anniversary Heron island conference, aims to bring together both (1) the community of researchers who have presented their research at previous Heron island conferences, asking them to reflect on the trajectory and influence of their research, and (2) the community of researchers who commenced their research more recently, asking them to present their research by placing it within the context of the thirty years of preceding research.
A set of reflective and prospective papers that have been refereed by an international board of reviewers will be presented and proposed to be published as a book by Springer as part of the continuing archive on design creativity research.
Three types of papers are solicited:
1. New research paper, to be peer reviewed, presented and discussed
2. New position paper, to be peer reviewed, presented and discussed.
3. Previously published paper to be presented and discussed.
Substantial periods of time at the conference will be set aside for both formal and informal discussion to create opportunities for peer-to-peer interactions, mutual learning and creativity-inspired new ideas.
