25 June 9:00am –12:30pm Workshop

Workshop Aim:

This workshop focuses on empirical studies that attempt to elucidate designers' cognitive processes behind the designing process. The intent is to create a forum for researchers who are interested in human designers designing to discuss recent advances in this domain. The topics include, but are not limited to, (1) studying in-situ design cognition beyond the laboratory settings, (2) theoretical frameworks and methods to analyze team design activities composed of various stakeholders, and (3) new measurement techniques complimentary to conventional “think-aloud” protocols, such as eye-tracking and Electroencephalography (EEG). Participants are encouraged to bring their work in progress, demonstrate their theories and contributions.
